The theme for this block for 4 to 7 year olds is 'My Magical Creature'. Today we heard the story of
The Winter Dragon by Caroline Pitcher which is beautifully illustrated by Sophy Williams. In the story Rory makes a cardboard dragon which magically helps him get over his fear of the dark before returning to its own fiery kingdom. We used this story and other books on mythical creatures to give inspiration before drawing and collaging magical creatures in our special idea books.
