Club Ardagh mid-term camp

We had two very enjoyable mornings with the children and staff from Club Ardagh during the mid-term. After a walk in the woods on a beautiful sunny morning we painted some trees using twigs as brushes. The next morning we gathered more leaves and printed our forest floor with them before creating trees with our collected twigs and branches and decorating the ground with beech nuts, pine cones and leaves. It took a bit of experimenting to make our trees stand, but we also found some time for a bit of drawing, sticking and tie-dying too. The winter forest is still there on display if anyone wants to pop in and see for themselves.

Mono-printing for 4 to 7 year olds

The 4 to 7 year olds got to grips with mono-printing and came up with some interesting new methods of creating prints. They also did some construction of safari animals with Lubz and a little bit of drama where they pretended to be different animals.

Harry Potter week for 8 to 12s

Continuing the theme of My World we had Harry Potter week for the 8 to 12 year olds this week. We read some of the place descriptions in the books noting the words used, especially all the adjectives and mental pictures they create. Some chose to write their own descriptive passages then, while others got straight to work on their ragdolls, mono-printing, button sewing and drawing. Things were so busy there was very little time for picture taking, but here are a few to give a flavour of Monday's creativity.
